FAQ's
1. What measures do you take to improve both the child’s academics and behaviour?
At SLATE, we focus on nurturing the child as a whole. We have a strong mentor system in place – each mentor is responsible for Sampoornatha (life skills) classes and closely supports a small group of students. For every five sections, there is one dedicated mentor who regularly observes and guides each child’s academic progress, emotional growth, and behaviour.
These observations, along with inputs from teachers and parents, are recorded every month on our Panorama Sheets, which are displayed in the classroom. This ensures transparency, consistent tracking, and a shared understanding of the child’s development. It also helps us intervene early, celebrate progress, and support children in making thoughtful and responsible choices.
This balanced and attentive approach is one of the reasons SLATE is regarded among the best schools in Hyderabad, where academic excellence goes hand-in-hand with character building.
2. What type of activities do you conduct to focus on communication and writing skills?
At SLATE, we ensure that every child gets regular and confident speaking practice. During assemblies, students are encouraged to speak on topics that are often given on the spot, and children are chosen at random, even those in Pre-Primary. This builds confidence, fluency, and presence.
In our language classes, the focus is on natural language acquisition rather than rote learning. To strengthen writing, we introduce a daily diary from Class 2 onwards, where students reflect on their day and share their thoughts with their English teacher.
Additionally, we conduct LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) activities in our library, along with creative platforms like Creative Chronicles, where students can express themselves through prose, poetry, painting, and poster-making.
This consistent nurturing of expression is one of the reasons SLATE stands among the best schools in Hyderabad, where communication is treated as a life skill, not just a subject.
3. How will you ensure that, with your philosophy and methodology, our child will have a good future?
At SLATE, we believe that the foundation for a strong future begins with healthy habits and the right environment. Ours is the only school where every student follows a junk-food-free and mobile-free lifestyle, and this alone has a powerful impact on their focus, emotional balance, and overall well-being.
Alongside this, our Sampoornatha programme, enriched by the Trayoda C principles, helps students build life skills such as discipline, empathy, resilience, decision-making, and mindful living. These are qualities that stay with them well beyond school.
By nurturing both the mind and the character, we ensure that students are not only academically prepared but also grounded, confident, and capable of leading meaningful and successful lives.
4. Why is there no written homework?
We follow the Read – Revise – Practise approach, which helps children understand lessons deeply rather than just memorise them. Students pre-read upcoming topics, reinforce what they’ve learnt, and then practise through focused exercises. This builds confidence, clarity, and steady academic progress.
We also avoid device-based homework because screens often lead to distraction and passive learning. Instead, children are encouraged to read, think, write, and reflect, keeping learning active, healthy, and meaningful beyond the classroom.
5. How will you ensure that our child follows RRP (Real Homework) regularly?
At SLATE, consistency is built into every child’s learning routine. Our teachers and mentors monitor the Read – Revise – Practise (RRP) cycle closely, providing guidance and feedback at each stage. Daily reflections, class discussions, and exercises ensure that children stay engaged with their learning. By making RRP meaningful, interactive, and integrated into classroom activities, we encourage students to take ownership of their work, developing habits of responsibility, discipline, and self-motivation.
6. Does your campus have a fully functional CCTV system in classrooms and common areas?
Yes. All our campuses are equipped with CCTV surveillance in classrooms as well as common areas. This ensures a safe, transparent, and closely monitored environment where children can learn and grow with confidence.
7. Will you ensure that children speak only in English at school?
Yes. We actively encourage and support students to communicate in English throughout the school day. Our teachers, mentors, and class activities all help create an environment where English becomes a natural and comfortable medium of expression, rather than something forced.
8. How will you identify if our child is addicted to mobile phones or TV?
Our mentors stay in close touch with parents to understand a child’s screen habits at home. In the higher classes, they also take discreet feedback from peers to get a clearer sense of behaviour. Alongside this, mentors carefully observe the child’s focus, engagement, and social interactions in school.
This helps us identify signs of screen dependency early and guide the child towards healthier routines. Such attentive monitoring and personal care are part of why SLATE is recognised among the best schools in Hyderabad for balanced, mindful growth.
