FAQs

1. From which grades is the Cambridge Curriculum being implemented?

Starting this academic year, we have introduced the Cambridge Curriculum at our school. It is currently being implemented in pre-primary and primary grades (nursery to class 5) with the intention of expanding further. This will make us one of the Cambridge Curriculum schools in Abids (Cambridge Knowledge Partner). It also reflects our commitment to providing globally recognised learning experiences while retaining our strong foundational practices.

2. Why do we follow an integrated syllabus, yet children receive an SSC certificate in Class 10?

Though our school is affiliated with the SSC board, we follow an integrated syllabus blending ICSE and CBSE concepts. This approach ensures students receive broad-based, enriched learning while meeting SSC academic requirements and graduating with an SSC certificate at the end of Class 10.

3. Why Not CBSE Affiliation?

While we value CBSE standards and incorporate their strengths, getting CBSE affiliation requires large land and playground space, which is a challenge as our school is located in the heart of the city. Urban space constraints make it difficult to meet those land norms.

Despite these limitations, we focus on quality education by offering a blended curriculum and modern teaching methods, ensuring our students get the best academic foundation and holistic development.

4. Does Slate give importance to physical activities?

Absolutely. At Slate, physical development is prioritised alongside academic growth. Initiatives like Sunshine Assemblies, Aqua Bells, and Healthy Break Protein Lunches foster a healthy lifestyle. We believe physical activity builds confidence, focus, and discipline—essential qualities that significantly contribute to overall student success.

Physical education at Slate is not a once-in-a-while activity — it’s a structured and integral part of our weekly timetable. Every student participates in regular, timetabled sports periods, guided by trained coaches.

Traditional and team sports like Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, and Volleyball are part of our regular sports curriculum. We celebrate a vibrant Annual Sports Week to foster healthy competition and team spirit.
We also offer NCC (National Cadet Corps) training to instil discipline, leadership, and patriotism among students.

5. Do we have a digital classroom for all the classes?

Yes, digital classrooms are available across all grades, but are used only for specific topics that benefit from audio-visual explanations. However, we are mindful not to overuse technology, especially in foundation classes, nurturing creativity and imagination through real-world exploration and interactive classroom experiences.

6. Does Slate – The School Abids offer education from Kindergarten to High School?

Yes. Slate – The School Abids offers academic programs from Kindergarten all the way up to High School (Class 10). This consistent learning environment helps ensure strong foundational skills and academic continuity for students throughout their formative years.

7. What is the fee structure for different grades at Slate – The School?

The annual tuition fee at Slate – The School ranges from 87,600 to 1,28,000, depending on the grade level. This fee reflects our commitment to offering value-driven, quality education with a well-rounded curriculum, expert faculty, and infrastructure that supports student development.

8. What is the student strength in each class?

We maintain optimal student-teacher ratios to support personalised learning. In Nursery to Class 5, each section consists of up to 28 students. In Classes 6 to 10, class strength extends to a maximum of 32 students—ensuring focused attention and effective classroom engagement.
